Description: A rigid shrub without latex. Young branches and inflorescences puberulous. Leaves mostly in whorls of three, lanceolate, glabrous. Cymes peduncled. Corolla purple, pink or white, rarely yellowish; tube about 2 cm long, funnel-shaped in the upper half. Merocarps 12-18 cm long, 0.6-6 cm in diam. Seeds numerous, densely pilose.
