Shrubs or small trees. Leaves simple, lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, (5) 8 - 18 cm long, base acute-cuneate, apex more or less acuminate, margins entire, occasionally hairy on the veins. Inflorescence axillary, 3 - 6 cm long, lax, pubescentthyrses or racemes with scattered fascicles of flowers. Fruit divaricate (one often abostive), subglobose to ovoid, 1.5 cm in diameter, smooth, red.
