Tuber obovoid, up to 5 cm. submerged leaves very variable in shape and diamentions, linear, narrowly lanceolate or narrowly ovate, up to 50 X 4.5 cm, base (narrowly) cuneate, rounded or subcordate, apex rounded or cuneate, margin flat, undulate or crisped. Inflorescence with 1 spike with fragrant, densely or rather laxly flowered, flowers white, pink or pale violet. Fruits about twice as long as thick, terminally beaked. Seeds with simple testa.
