| Description: |
Glabrous shrub to c. 2 m high. Leaves oval-oblong to oblong-lanceeolate, 6 - 17.5 X 2.2 - 4 cm, from an acute base tapering into petiole, subacuminate. Spikes terminal, 6.5 - 23.5 cm long, simple, occasionally branched. Capsule ovoidly clavate, 10 - 16 X 5 - 6 mm, bristly, with a short, solid base. Seeds orbicular, 4 - 8 mm broad, subcompressed, rugulose-tuberculate.
