Description: Shrubs to 5 m tall. Leaves spiral, crowded near tips of branches, oblanceolate, 17 X 17 cm, acute, entire, the base long-attenuate, sessile, subsessile, or shortly petiolate. Inflorescence conspicuous cymes, terminal, compact in bud, open and lax in fruit. Flowers small, sessile, crowded and two-ranked, white. Fruit globose, consisting mostly of aerenchymatous mesocarp, 2 - 4 seeds near the apex surrounded by a hard endocarp, the exocarp thin.
