Description: Large trees, 25- 35 m tall. Leaves ovate-lanceolate or ovate, 10.2 - 14.4 X 4. - 7.8 cm, glabrous, rounded or subcordate at base, in vivo duliy-grey beneath, apex acute, often twisted, margin entire. Flowers sessile in red paniculate racemes, 5-merous. Capsules broadly ellipsoid to suborbicular, 1-celled, 1-seeded, fleshy, glabrous, cherry-red. Seeds erect, oblong-ovoid, brownish; aril thick, transparent-white, acidic.
