| Description: |
Tree, up to 20 m tall, glabrous. Bark rough, dark rusty to blackish. Leaves chataceous; 3.5 x 12-1.5 x 6-5 x 10 cm; petioles 1-1.5 cm long. Flowers white, male ones fascicled in the axils of upper leaves, pedicels up to 2 cm long; female flowers solitary. Fruit globose to sub-ovoid, red to orange-red, glossy, up to 5 cm diameter, the persistent sepals reflexed under the fruit.
