Description: Tree, up to 10 m tall. Stipular thorns about 1 cm long, black; thorns on the lower parts of branches and trunk, black, glossy, up to 4 cm long. Rachis about 6-11 cm long, petiolar part short with a large sessile gland between the bases of the lower pinnae, and smaller glands between 2-3 pairs of apical pinnae. Pinnae 5-12 pairs, 2.5-6 cm long; leaflets sessile, glabrous, 15-30 pairs. Flowers in globose heads, arranged in a panicle up to 30 cm long; flowers white, sessile. Pod strap-shaped, somewhat fleshy, 7-15 cm long, 5-8 mm wide; seeds oval, flat, numerous.
