Description: A medium sized to large tree. Leaves elliptic-ovate to elliptic to lanceolate, 6 - 25 X 3.5 - 11 cm, basally rounded to somewhat cordate, acuminate to shortly caudate and acute at the very apex, coriaceous, dark green and shining above, paler beneath. Inflorescence spike-like, sometimes axillary but generally terminally solitary or 2 - 5 together, flowers white. Fruit a woody capsule. Seeds oblong, flat, produced into a large apical wings.
