Description: A medium-sized tree 6 - 18 m tallleaf blade 8 - 16 cm long, 2 - 6 cm wide, ovate to narrowly ovate, rarely elliptical or narrowly elliptical, obtuse, rounded or truncate at base, gradually tapering into an attenuate apex, less commonly rounded or obtuse at apex, membranous, undulate at margin, glabrous on both sides at maturity except along midrib. Flowers apple-green, solitary or few few from a common axillary peduncle not exceeding 1 mm or several from tubercles on the old wood. Fruitlets ovoid, up to 2 cm long and 1.4 cm in diameter, bluntly pointed, dark purple, glabrous, smooth and shining. Seeds solitary, slightly smaller than fruitlet, pale reddish-brown.
