Description: A slender climber up to 5 m tall or occasionally an erect or almost erect treelet of 1 - 2 m. leaf blade 3.5 - 13 cm long, 1.5 - 4 cm wide, narrowly elliptical or narrowly ovate, obtuse or more frequently acute at base, acute and gradually acuminate at apex, thinly coriaceous, glabrous above and beneath when mature except along the midrib. Flowers solitary or paired, purple. Fruitlets ovoid, obtuse or rounded at base, rounded at apex, not torulose, brownish-red, almost smooth. Seeds half-ovoid, light reddish-brown, smooth.
