| Description: |
A delicate, entirely glabrous annual. Leaves alternate throughout, lamina 1 - 3 cm long and wide, triangular ovate, cordate at base with a sinus 1 - 2 mm deep, obtuse and often vaguely short-acuminate at apex, slightly fleshy alive, pale green, thinly membranous. Spikes solitary, terminal but frequently leaf-opposed by overtopping, flowers scarcely immersed. Fruit globose-ellipsoidal, sessile, pointed at the apex, blackish brown at maturity.
