Description: Shrubs, stems dichotomous but sparsely branched, to 2-4 m long, to 7-8 cm diameter; prop roots basal, few. Leaves up to 220-280 x 3.5-4.2 cm, prickles on margins 0.8 mm long. Staminate inflorescence terminal, spicate, 35-40 cm long; bracts yellow. Pistillate inflorescence spicate, more than 20 cm long, bracts yellow.
